US Airways - if flying with them, it's always cheaper to book through their own site.
Lastminute - normally my first port of call for checking prices.
Travelocity - also offers a comprehensive listing of prices.
Expedia - as above, occasionally comes up with some cheaper offers.
SeatGuru - provides a comparison of legroom, in-flight entertainment, etc.
ExpertFlyer - allows you to see (for a subscription) seat availability and more.
Airline Quality Rating - provides annual reports on US-operated airlines.

Motel 6 - the chain that we used most; almost invariably the cheapest around.
Days Inn - another cheap chain motel.
Super 8 - not used on this occasion but also fairly well priced, if less common.
Comfort Inn - used in Pawtucket, better quality but corresponding more expensive.
Boston Park Plaza & Towers - homepage for the plush hotel that we used in Boston.
Woodwards Resort - very pleasant resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire
