Highlights - Landscapes
Included here are some of my favourite landscape photographs -
pictures from Ashfield and Shelburne Falls in Massachusetts, the
Kancamagus Highway and Mount Washington in New Hampshire and finally
a sunset over Newport, Rhode Island.
These are pictures I enjoy for a variety
of reasons. The sunset over Newport was one of the first times
I felt I caught a sunset well on camera (using a graduated neutral
density filter here) and I also liked the shiny, oleaginous quality
of the rocks. The photo of Hermit Lake in front of the
headwall of Mount Washington is also another that I'm proud of,
although there's some 'cheating' going on in that a warm filter was
applied; the colours weren't quite that rich in real life.
Lastly, the photos from Ashfield and
Shelburne Falls sum up what was perhaps my favourite part of the
trip - wandering around these small towns in western Massachusetts,
with their churches and town halls, was almost like taking a step
back in time.
